The Lyman High School Odyssey of the Mind team is accepting donations to support our trip to the World Finals Tournament held at Iowa State University May 23-26, 2018. At the World Finals we will compete with over 800 teams from 30 countries around the world. This is the first time any team from Lyman High School has qualified for the World Finals. Team members represent Lyman High School, Hagerty High School, and Crooms Academy of Information Technology.
As a public high school, Lyman is unable to provide funding to assist us with attending this academic competition. With total costs for travel, lodging, meals and registration estimated at $7,500, we need your help to ensure that our team is able to attend this distinguished international competition. At the Florida State Tournament on April 14th, our Classics Team qualified for the World Finals by finishing 1st in the long term problem and 2nd overall.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creativity competition that helps students develop skills in problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, math, language arts, engineering, science, writing, and the performing arts.
