Lyla Salazar needs radiation therapy

Hola mi nombre es Lyla,

Cumpli 14 años en Septiembre 21. Me gusta mucho correr, jugar y hacer gimnasia. Tengo muchos sueños y un futuro que yo anhelo pero hay algo que me esta deteniendo.

Tengo una hermana mayor y una hermana y hermano menor a los cuales amo mucho. Tengo a mi papa y mama que cuidan y proveen por nosotros. Mis padres hacen todo lo posible por nosotros pero necesitamos ayuda para mi salud.

Hace un año me detectaron unos tumores en mi cabeza que fueron removidos por cirugía y después me dieron quimioterapia y me habían dado buenas noticias que al parecer los tumores chicos estaban disminuyendo. En Septiembre del 2022 me hicieron un chequeo y miraron sangre dentro de mi cabeza. Me llevaron en helicóptero a Houston al hospital MD Anderson donde fui admitida la primera vez. Después de mas estudios me encontraron otro tumor. Me diagnosticaron con Diffuse Midline Glioma, es un tumor/cancer muy raro en niños que no hay cura y solo dan hasta 1 año de vida.

Mis padres y yo creemos que Dios puede hacer un milagro y abrir puertas. Dios sé a estado moviendo y encontramos una lucesita de esperanza. Una clínica en Minnesota puede parar mi sangrado y con radioterapia puede retrasar la progresión de la enfermedad y mejorar marginalmente la supervivencia. Desafortunadamente como estoy en otro estado (Texas) la clínica de Minnesota no acepta mi seguro de salud. Como mi seguro de salud no cubre el costo cera aproximadamente de $131,000. Desafortunadamente no tenemos los recursos financieros.

No tengo mucho tiempo y necesito su ayuda por favor con lo que puedan donar se los agradesco de todo corazón. Dios los bendiga.

Hello, my name is Lyla

I just turned 14 years old on September 21st. I like running, playing and doing gymnastics. I have many dreams and a future that I long for, but something is stopping me.

I have an older sister and a younger sister and brother, whom I love very much. My mom and dad care for us and provide for us. My parents do their best for us, but we need help with my health.

A year ago, they detected some tumors in my head that were removed by surgery. Then they gave me chemotherapy and we received the good news that the small tumors were decreasing. In September 2022, I had a checkup and they found blood inside my head. I was taken by helicopter to Houston MD Anderson Hospital, where I was first admitted. After more tests, they found another tumor. I was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma; it is a sporadic tumor/cancer in children for there is no cure, and they only give up to 1 year of life.

My parents and I believe that God can perform a miracle and open doors. God has been moving, and we found a glimmer of hope. A clinic in Minnesota can stop my bleeding, and radiation therapy can slow the progression of the disease and marginally improve survival. Unfortunately, since I live in another state (Texas) the Minnesota clinic does not accept my health insurance. Since my health insurance doesn't cover the cost, it will cost approximately $131,000. Unfortunately, we do not have the financial resources.
