Lydia Gwan's Recovery Fund

On the evening of Thursday, June 29th 2017, my sister, Lydia Gwan, was involved in a serious car accident.
While on the interstate, her SUV flipped over a few times and landed on the other side of the median.
As you can see from the pictures of the car, it is by the Grace of God that her life was spared, and she sustained no injuries to sensitive areas such as her neck, back or head.
However, there was significant injury to her knees and both legs (multiple fractures to both legs and both knees, a broken rib), and she has been in surgery at least five times since the incident.

It was a complicated right open tibia-fibula fracture with some bone pieces lost during the accident. Recovery has been complicated by an infection to her leg requiring more surgeries and IV antibiotics in the hospital over the next 4 weeks.

It is estimated that she will be incapacitated for at least 6-12 months for the treatment and the subsequent physical therapy necessary for recovery (not being able to work either).
This gofundme is being created to help assist with the financial cost associated with her recovery.

The initial goal of $25,000 here was reached by estimating the costs of the wheelchair, hospital bed, wheel-chair accessible apartment etc- all the amenities she will need to survive and recover once all her surgeries are done and the hospital is comfortable enough to discharge her.

So far, the only resources are her car insurance and whatever we (her friends & family) can come up with.
