Sachs Family Recovery Fund

On February 6, 2015 a wildfire scorched over 7,000 acres against the base of the Eastern Sierra. Swall Meadows is home to one of the largest mule deer migration corridors in the country and also to 200 residents. The Round Fire destroyed 40 out of the total 90 homes in the community. The Sachs Family was one of those affected by the tragedy. Bob Sachs is an electrician and a veteran volunteer fire fighter. During the blaze, Bob fought alongside the Wheeler Crest Volunteer Fire Department and helped save countless homes including my own. He saved other homes yet lost his. His wife Rosemary works as an ER Nurse at Mammoth Hospital.
My name is Madison Pauly, and I’m currently a student at UC Berkeley, a neighbor and a friend. I grew up in Swall Meadows and hope that through these crowd-funding efforts my hometown family will be able to recover and heal. I am truly awed by the resilience, and strength of the people of the Owens Valley. All donations, both small and large, are sincerely appreciated.
