Hello,
I'm Phyllis Thompson. Geriatric Nurse, Wife, Mother of two, Grandmother to five. I live in Denton, Maryland with my wonderful husband, "Butterball".
Four years ago, as a result of complications from an unrelated surgery, I became blind -immediately- and in both eyes. Without warning, it was an unexpeced setback that I'm slowly adjusting to. Sadly, I've had to stop being the helping nurse and mother, and am now in need of help myself.
This is where YOU come in. I need YOUR help.
I have been selected to participate in the S.C.O.T.S. Clinical Trial , a U.S. full-treatment, privately-funded clinical trial that will use my own bone marrow stem cells to treat the damaged areas of my eyes.The trial has had wonderful success. (A friend who has had his sight restored through S.C.O.T.S. is actually helping me write this appeal!)

The U.S. Government still limits funding of stem cell research, even though the study uses only my own.
The trial costs $21,600. I am half-way there! I still need $12,600 - by the end of February. My family and I are prepared to cover travel and expenses,, but it's too much for us to do on our own. PLEASE consider giving to this effort.
