Lupus and Cancer Warrior

BEAUTIFUL WARRIOR! This fundraiser is for my cousin with the heart of a warrior and champion! She has been diagnosed with Lupus since she was 15 years old (22 yrs strong) and had been fighting a good fight since then with numerous days of challenges and days of triumph as well! Mid October she was told by doctors once again some life-changing news that she has Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Being exposed to the many challenges of Lupus, she took the information with a brave heart. Honestly, I am so proud of her because I am not sure how strong I would be right now to battle two significant illnesses such as Lupus and Cancer. I want to introduce my lioness cousin, Nardia, also know to many as Brow Magic; she has taught us all how to face challenges with strength and courage.

Nardia's treatments for Lupus have been exhaustive, with many different medications. She has undergone two hip surgeries, two eye surgeries; she is currently still blind in her left eye. An unfortunate fact is that she went blind two and a half weeks after she had her miracle baby boy and did not get to see him again until three days before he was four months old. Nardia also had two major brain surgeries due to meningiomas. Nardia has visited the emergency room numerous times and has experienced so many more challenges. With the newest medical challenge - breast cancer, she has started chemotherapy, a 24-week process. Following chemo, she will have to have surgery in hopes her aggressive chemo treatments kicked cancers ass. At the very least, she deserves a win!

The process to treat cancer; specifically, breast cancer, is taxing on the body and pockets. Nardia just found out this news a little over a month ago, and she has already been hit with a significant amount of medical bills. What a way to add more stress to someone who is already experiencing a whirlwind of physical and emotional difficulties.

Nardia truly lives for her son. As any mom should. He is her WHY and STRENGHT. He is the person that fills her with that deep feeling of unconditional love and an immeasurable amount of gratitude. Anytime she is faced with a health challenge, she always knows she will beat it and get back to being the best mom she can be for him. His name is Nye, and he is 14yrs old. He has ADD and PTSD because he almost saw her die in their home due to the Lupus attacking her lungs. She had ulcers and lesions that were erupting, and he walked into the bathroom and witnessed it filled with blood and her coughing uncontrollably. He is in a private school because he earned it and need that support. With the current diagnosis, Nardi cannot continue to work to keep him at this school that he is now excelling in. Every mother wants her child to be happy and live the best life they can live. Together I hope that we can keep Nye in school and keep him fed during lunch; a matter a fact, I hope that we can keep him fed everyday!

Nardi needs emotional and financial help; please be a champion for her - cheer her on! Besides that essential support, she also needs help with her prescriptions, transportation, Nye's tuition/lunch, medical bills that her insurance will not be covering, rent, and a few other bills.

She needs help NOW! Her situation is an urgent one. As long as I knew my cousin, she has always been a giver and wanted everyone around her to be happy, beautiful, and winning. She is very selfless and never asks for much. She always wanted to make sure everyone around her was feeling and doing good. Everything Nardia has been through, she never, throughout the years, asked for anything major, and she stayed humble and grateful. I think now is the perfect time for some or all of her burdens to be lifted. Big or small, any amount will help her and her son live a healthy and happy life. Honestly, isn't that what we all want?
