Lung transplant for Gary Teague
Donation protected
As some of you may or may not know, about 3 years ago my dad, Gary Teague, was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Unfortunately, there is no cure, only extremely costly medications to try and slow the progression of the disease. Eventually, the disease progresses and diminishes lung function so much, that a lung transplant is needed. That is where we are in the fight against this disease. Insurance pays for the majority of the procedure but Cleveland Clinic requires patients to have $15,000 set aside before they can receive the life giving lungs. This helps to cover the costs of the medication that my Dad will be required to be on after the surgery that, ironically, the insurance does not cover as well as other miscellaneous expenses not covered. This is a large sum of money, especially after all the other medical expenses incurred the past 3 years, so we are setting up multiple fundraising events to help out. If you have had the pleasure of meeting my dad you know a few things about him. In addition to be a great father, grandfather, and friend, he is also the type of person that will help anybody and everybody. He is also not the type to ask for help himself, so we are doing it for him. So if you are able to help in anyway, my family would appreciate it in ways we cannot even express!
