Luna’s Rehabilitation Fund

Hi my name is Luna Blue.  I’m a 3 month old kitten who is in love with life, both before my injury and now.   My humans adore me, as they should,  and after a lot of soul searching, have decided to reach out for assistance in helping me get the care I need.  Here’s my story: 

Two weeks ago, the worst happened.  The combination of a distracted teen, a heavy door, and crazy winds from a pop up storm (frequent here in FL)  created the worse scenario imaginable.  I was literally crushed in a heavy door.   I was raced to the emergency vet where they managed to save my life with emergency surgery, stopping internal bleeding from liver lacerations but as of right now,  I am paralyzed from the waist down.  The doctors were originally optimistic as my spinal cord was not severed, nor back broken.  They felt that when spinal swelling went down, I would start to regain use of my back legs again.  However, so far, that hasn’t been the case.  I was in the hospital for almost a week and they were so very wonderful to me.  My one mom would visit  me and when she saw that I was still the same spunky happy baby at heart that I always was, we all agreed to do everything we could.  

Problem is, it’s expensive.  The surgery and hospitalization alone was over $2,500 and now meds, follow up doc visits,(More to come too) therapy, various handicapped apparatuses (drag bags and soon a custom wheelchair small enough for me) , piddle pads (I need my bladder expressed for now and accidents happen) are really adding up.  Oh and treats and toys, they are spoiling me rotten (as they should) .   My moms are putting in the work they can by themselves but many things still cost.  A lot.  Especially the wheelchair, which we are all hoping will only be temporary. 

My moms really struggled with posting this but I basically told them I was more important than their silly pride so here we are.   They just don’t have this money to spare with everything else going on especially since it is still adding up.  They wanted me to tell everyone that they understand times are tough and even if we donot make our goal, they will find a way to get me what I need.  Somehow.  I believe them too.  If you can’t contribute, please send a good thought or prayer.   Make no mistake, I am a happy, healthy, crazy kitteh still with a lot of life and spunk and even though I pretend to be annoyed, I know I am loved very much.  Thank you everyone for taking the time to read my story...
