Help Luke save turtles and buy a computer

Hi, my name is Luke Snell and I have been a missionary in Brazil since 2012 with my sister and my parents. We live in a city called Joao Pessoa on the northeast coast of Brazil. I am three years away from graduating high school and my plan is to study architecture back in Canada. I need to buy a computer for the courses I am taking to prepare for university.
Here in Brazil, you can't get a job until you're 18. I don't expect anything for nothing. I want to work for what I need, but I can't here. So, I looked around for something I could do that is needed here in my city. We live on the coast, and it is a sea turtle nesting ground. Every year thousands of turtles are born here. The beach is always littered with plastic which is very dangerous for both the adult nesting turtles and their babies. I am committed to picking up plastic and other garbage at the beach to do my part. In one hour on my first time out, I picked up over 3 kilos (6.6lbs) of garbage and plastic in a 650-meter x 5 meter stretch of beach. There is 22 km of beachfront in Joao Pessoa, with an average depth of 15 meters which means on any given day there are about 300 kg of garbage on the beach in my city. I can't pick it all up but I can do my part, and I hope that when other people see what I am doing they will be inspired to do it too.
So, I am asking for your support to help me raise the funds I need for this computer and clean up the beaches to save the turtles.
