Luke's Medical Journey

Luke and his family are from the Interlake. Luke has 4 siblings and another one will be arriving soon. Luke's parents are with him in the hospital at the time which means his dad isn't able to be at his job, so any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.
The following is Luke's medical story as written by his mom.
In November Luke's right eye started to turn slightly in. We did not think much of it because it just happened here and there. At the end of December we started to notice that he looked cross eyed and was starting to do some weird things. He would look out of the corners of his eyes instead of straight at you, or turning off lights when it was darker because he could see better that way. At the beginning of January we made an appt with the eye doctor for the end of the month. We thought that he just needed glasses, so we waited and waited. As time went by his eyes started to get worse and worse and he started to complain that his head hurt. On Jan. 17 Luke started to get really bad head aches. He would lay down and just cry. His head aches would be so bad that they would cause him to throw up. Nothing seemed to take the head ache away. He had changed from being the little happy boy we all knew into a little boy who was in constant pain. Nothing seemed to help. On Jan 19th we took him to a doctor and we're told he was fine and to just give him tylenol. His headache continued until we went to the eye doctor. On Jan 23rd he saw the eye doctor. At his appt we were told that his optic nerves were swollen. We were told that he had to much fluid around his brain. We were immediately sent to Winnipeg were they did a CT scan and they discovered that he had a brain tumor. He was admitted to Childrens Hospital. And put on steriod mediction to reduce the swelling in his brain. The MRI scan showed that the tumor was 4.6cm in size and was pressing against his spinal cord and has grown into his cerebellum. We were told that his condition was life threatening because the tumor was preventing the fluid in his brain from draining. While we waited for surgery Luke was always in good spirits. He would tell everyone that came into his room that people were praying for him. He would also remind us that Jesus was taking care of him. He amazed me with the strength he had. On Jan 25 he under went surgery to remove the tumor. He was in surgery for about 7 hours. Once the surgery was complete the surgeon was very hopeful that he got 90-95 % of the tumor. We are now waiting for the results of what the tumor was to decide when needs to be done next. Over the next while he will still be going through tests and Dr appointments. We have been told that he may need therapy to help correct the things that were damaged by the tumor pressing on his cerebellum. And so only time will tell how quickly this strong little boy will take to heal. We know that he will have to remain in the hospital for at least 1 maybe 2 weeks. Only God knows how quick he will heal. I thank God that he placed Luke into our lives. He has taught us so much about having faith in Jesus. Something that Samuel and myself have kept telling ourselves is "God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good." This is where we sit right now. We don't know what the results of everything is.
