We need your help!!  As many of you may already know, one of our own brothers has tested positive for COVID-19. Luis Corona is battling the fight of his life. He has been in the ICU on a ventilator since last Sunday March 29.  Luis has dedicated much of his adult life volunteering for our fire department, the boy scouts, his church, coaching soccer, and many other local organizations. He has helped hundreds of sick people in our community and put out countless fires around Monrovia.  He is only employed part time at Monroe, Madsion Township fire department and Eli Lilly fire dept. His wife and kids have also tested positive for the virus and are quarantined at home. Thanks to all of the great citizens and neighbors who have stepped up to provide meals for the Corona Family at this difficult time. Luis will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future and will definitely need help paying essential bills. This is where we as the community can come together to help the man who has helped all of us so much over the last 13 years of being on the fire department. We are doing two fundraisers to try and help out just a little. We have created #Luisstrong yard signs that will be available to purchase for $20.00. These will be available for pick up at station 51 or if you are unable get out and live in Monroe Township we will deliver one to you.The station is closed to the public at this time so you will need to make an appointment to pick up your sign by calling [phone redacted] or message us on Facebook.
