Lucy's Life-changing Accident Fund

Hi everyone. I am starting this fund with my brother Conner to help our little sister Lucy who was in a terrible, tragic accident this past June. Anyone who knows our sister knows that she would never ask for money or help from anyone, as she is such a kind and conscientious person and would never want to be a burden on anyone. But life has dealt her a cruel blow and Conner and I wanted to share her story and ask the community for some help.
On June 8, Lucy, her boyfriend, and his four-year old son were driving through Iowa on a cross-country road trip when they got into a terrible accident. Their trailer swerved out of control on the interstate and they completely lost control of the vehicle. They had a terrible crash and it was a miracle they weren't more seriously injured (although there were some broken bones involved). The trailer and the truck that they had JUST purchased the previous month were both completely totalled. The trailer could not be insured, and the insurance company has made an egregious claim that they actually OWE THEM money on the truck.
But the real tragedy here is this: This wasn't just a random road trip. This was the start of a new life for them both. Lucy planned for this trip for so long and was going to start a new life on the West Coast in the next few months. But now she has absolutely nothing and no way to get across the country to start working. They had all of their worldly possessions in that trailer, but the trailer was so wrecked that they can't even get access to any of it (or it's simply destroyed). Now they are stuck at a family member's house in Arizona with no money and no way to get another vehicle to continue onward. They invested all of their savings into this trip ($12,000 in the truck, $10,000 in the trailer) and now it's gone. Just like that.
My sister is one of the toughest, strongest people I know, but this experience has shaken her to the core. All her life plans have been shattered and she truly doesn't know what to do.
Once again, Lucy would never dream of asking anyone for financial help. But that's why Conner and I have taken the initiative to try and help her through GoFundMe, because we love her dearly and she truly is in need right now.
Our goal is to try and raise $5,000 to help them get back on their feet. They are completely stuck right now. I've of course known Lucy her entire life and never once has she asked me for money or financial help as she is one of the most responsible people I know. But this one time I'm asking all of you who know and love Lucy to please help her out in her time of need. No donation amount is too small! Thanks in advance from the bottom of my heart.
