Lucinda's Retina Recovery Fund

We are family and friends who are managing this campaign for Lucinda.  Please read below.

·   While visiting her ailing mother in California Lucinda experienced near blindness and discovered that she had traveled with one detached retina and developed a detached retina in her other eye as well

·   Both eyes required surgery and were performed within 10 days of each other

·   Lucinda is unable to perform any physical activity and must remain in a seated massage chair, head down for 45 minutes of every hour

·   She is unable to travel or be above 2,000 feet of elevation

·   While the surgeries have been determined to be successful, it is impossible to tell whether she will regain full vision in both eyes at this time

·   Her next appointment is July 5 at which time she will find out if she is allowed to travel. 

·   She has been unable to work and all of her bills are piling up

·  Any money raised will help Lucinda with the expenses that she has incurred during this surgery as well as help pay for her medical insurance, mortgage, and other bills

As co-owner of the City Fitness Gym in Cleveland Park, Lucinda has done many things to better other people’s lives. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, a nature lover, and an avid yoga practitioner, Lucinda has made it her mission to teach people of all ages and abilities the benefits of healthy living and physical exercise.  Lucinda has volunteered her time to teach yoga to the parents of children who have cancer, and through her work at the gym, she has been instrumental in raising money for various local charities, like "Girls on the Run" and "Street Soccer USA."  She believes in giving back to the community, and we believe that it is now our time to give back to her.
