If you've ever met our mom, you know she has a very unique sweetness that defines her; she is genuinely full of love for everyone she meets, and this love is felt so effortlessly. Her kindness, soft-spokenness, and compassion are what people seem to remember most about her. She has made such an impact on so many lives - most importantly, ours. She taught us what love looks like. She showed us the blessings that come from consistently putting others before yourself. She demonstrated God's love to us. And now, she needs our help, and yours, too.
She has struggled her entire life with chronic illnesses, including hemophelia, osteoarthritis, and Lyme Disease. In late 2013, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and began treatment shortly after. This included 6 cycles of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, and 33 treatments of radiation. As of December 2016, she was completely healthy and clear of all signs of cancer; however, her recent scans now show that the cancer has metastasized to her bones. There are tumors present all over her body, the largest few the size of golf balls, which are present on her skull, hip, and spine.
The only treatment offered by her oncologist and radiologist was localized radiation therapy, targeting her larger tumors, followed by hormone therapy to keep the smaller tumors from growing larger and/or spreading. After all she had been through in her previous bout with cancer, she knew the side effects of this treatment would be horrific. After much thought and prayer, she finally decided the best course of treatment for her would be integrated therapy offered at Euro-Med clinic.
This integrated treatment center incorporates a very low dose of chemotherapy, called IPT, with natural therapies such as high doses of Vitamin C and Chinese medicine to boost and heal the immune system. This clinic is run by a group of MDs who use traditional as well as natural remedies to allow healing without such devastating side effects as regular chemotherapy and radiation. Since she's been through so much already, negative side effects from chemotherapy and radiation are a huge concern of hers. She is tired of fighting the way she had to through her breast cancer, so seeking other options was the very best choice for her to make. However, this integrated treatment is not covered by insurance and is extremely costly. We are hoping to get as much help as we can to support her treatment, as the financial burden on our parents is very heavy.
We want our mom to be healthy, happy, and pain free, and this is her best opportunity to do so. If you can, please help with whatever you are able to. No amount is too small.
