Lucas’ 2019 China Study Program

This my oldest son Lucas, he is in 7th grade at Wesley International Academy in Atlanta.  He was selected as 1 of 13 middle school students who will spend June 2019 studying Chinese at Nanjing University in China.  He has been studying Mandarin Chinese since kindergarten and having this unique opportunity immersed in both Chinese language and culture is really and a testimony to his character and how he has worked at it.  It is a once in lifetime opportunity, next year because he would be a rising high schooler he will not be eligible.  

While there they will be in class or studying most of the day, though they will go out into the city some.  In particular as part of the program they spend time visiting with other kids in an orphanage nearby.  On two of the weekends they will travel to a noted cultural landmark such as the Great Wall. 

He needs help paying for the study program.  Most of it has to be paid for this year and we do not have enough to be honest. 

The cost covers his flights, lodging in the university dorm, food, expenses for the study program uniform, and the cost of two cultural weekend trips.  The trip is pale for in installments or $1500 starting November 15.  I hope you can help him out.
