Luau Memorial for Julio Ramirez

Hello, my name is Kari Quimpo, a good friend of Julio Ramirez's. We are raising money to host a luau-themed memorial for Julio in Buffalo, NY on May 14, 2022.

 

Julio graduated from the University at Buffalo with a dual bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Psychology. He then graduated with a dual master's degree in Social Work and Public Health.

 

While in school, Julio worked as a Resident Advisor in Goodyear Hall, an employee at HomeGoods, an intern at the Rural Outreach Center, a frontline greeter at Kenmore Mercy Hospital during the height of Covid, and as an advanced placement social work intern at ECMC. He lived on UB's South Campus, University Heights at Axis 360, and most recently in Elmwood Village. I'm not even sure if Julio understood football, but he was a proud Bills Fan. Julio loved Buffalo and was loved in Buffalo. Many of his good friends in WNY could not attend his services on Long Island. We would love to honor him in the city where his adulthood began.

 

And the best way to honor Julio is in the way he would have wanted- by throwing a party. Whatever funds we end up not using for this event will be contributed to the commemorative gift we are placing in his name- hopefully, a bench to be erected somewhere in Buffalo, NY.
