Help Mel fight cancer

Donation protected
Not being able to swallow, doctors were on a search for symptoms not cancer related but our mama was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November 2010. She was fortunate to have it caught early (yay for a thorough doctor!) enough that she was able to have major surgery to remove the cancerous area. Chemo treatments started immediately, every other week. (We LOVE our nurses and staff at Samaritan Oncology) After a year, December of 2011 they found that the cancer had jumped to her liver.

While the doctors told us to get her affairs in order, she wasn't ready to give in so quickly. (We weren't either!)  After looking into many options we found a chemo treatment that has helped keep the cancer from spreading. As of just a couple days ago, February 5, 2015 the current treatment plan has stopped working and new cancer growth has been found on her liver. There is a new FDA approved chemo pill that has the potential to help. But the cost is around $2500 per month. As you can imagine the costs of chemo for the last 5 years has taken its toll. This treatment is really the only option at this point.

As a wife, mother of 4 (awesome) kids, and grandmother of soon to be (also awesome!) 7 grandkids, and as a pancreatic cancer survivor - this fight is worth it! We are asking for your support to help fund our fight and keep our mom here longer. With your donated money, you help alleviate the cost burden associated with this new treatment, which includes travel costs to the amazing Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Our mom has far exceeded expectations- please donate today to help her continue to beat the odds!
