Loyalsock Township School District is extremely proud of its award-winning competitive marching band, representing the township at performances throughout the region. In 2017, the Lancer Marching Band won its first Cavalcade of Bands Championship, competing against high schools from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia and Delaware. Over 150 schools compete in Cavalcade of Bands, and we are proud of our talented students for this tremendous accomplishment!

The Cavalcade championship builds on a tradition of “musical excellence in motion.” The Lancer Marching Band was a national bronze medalist at the 2015 Outback Bowl Parade, and is a 20-time Tournament of Bands Chapter IV champion. In addition to competitions, the band supports Loyalsock athletics, performing at all varsity football and basketball games. The Lancer Marching Band is a proud ambassador of the Loyalsock Township School District and community!

During the past five years, the band has enjoyed exponential growth. Five years ago, 23 students comprised the Lancer Marching Band. Today, that number is 56 students and still growing! In order to accommodate such growth, the Loyalsock Band Boosters will be purchasing a new truck, trailer, and all-weather raincoats. The cost of these essential upgrades will exceed $50,000.

A larger trailer and truck are necessary to transport more instruments and equipment utilized by our increasing number of band members. After 30 years of use, new raincoats are needed to keep our students warm and dry. These upgrades will help to sustain the Lancer Marching Band for an additional 20 years. Your gift will not only support our current members, but will ensure a successful future for the Lancer Marching Band.
