We are writing to you today to let you know of a heartbreaking situation that Darren & Cindy Lowe are finding themselves in at this very moment.
On Sunday Dec 19, Darren was rushed to Rogue Medical Center for open-heart surgery to replace a failed heart valve. He has not yet awoken as he was expected to have done by now, and so they fear that one of his lungs may have collapsed. The best-case scenario outcome of this heart-wrenching situation is that he will be required to stay in the hospital until stable and then be out of work for at least 2 months. He has no sick-leave pay and they will have to live on a small disability income until he goes back to work. As if this wasn’t enough pressure already, Darren and Cindy have just been asked to move out of their rental home as the owners will be moving back in. Five of their children live in their home with them - Jessie, Katie, Josh, Jake, Caleb. It will be very hard in today’s tight rental market to find a reasonably priced home for a family of 7.
As stated, Darren doesn’t have any paid sick-leave so he will be without the family’s regular income for the next couple of months, and he will not be able to help with the move once they do find a new home. And as we all know, moving can be expensive.
Darren and Cindy do have medical insurance but it has a sizeable deductible. With the long hospital stay and the expensive heart surgery Darren and Cindy will be responsible for a huge medial bill on top of the moving expenses which will occur while Darren is recuperating
Now, friends, we need your help. The Lowes are an extremely caring and loveable family, always full of joy and thoughtfulness. Today, they need your help. Please consider giving whatever you can afford, whether its $5 or $500 we need to help lift the weight off of Lowes’ shoulders this Christmas season!
