My name is Elise Friedson, and I am one of Lucy Anderson's best friends. Along with 3 of her other best friends, Scottie, Fallon and Mary, we have started this page in order to help Lucy in the only way we feel we can.
Hunter Capobianco is Lucy's son and he was only 3 weeks shy of his 18th birthday when he took his own life.
He had his entire life ahead of him...A huge family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that all loved him more than he could understand...A mother who wanted nothing more than for her son to be happy. Knowing Hunter was knowing someone with a quick wit, who loved basketball, video games, listening to Eminem, and of course...the ladies. His smile would draw you in and his amazing sense of humor would have you hooked.
Family and friends flew in from all over the country to be by his hospital bed, where he fought for his life for 4 days on life support. We held his hand...we talked to him...and we prayed for a miracle.
But on December 20th, 2017, around 4:00am, after having been off of life support for over an hour, Hunter's heart finally stopped. What was able to be was donated to those who needed it. And then time stopped.
World's came crashing down, hearts broke, and lives were forever changed.
The loss of a child is a loss no one should ever have to endure. Initially, this page was set up because this unexpected tragedy had left Lucy with extensive hospital bills, as well as a significant loss of income from having to miss work during this time of bereavement. There are no words that will bring Hunter back, but what we felt we could give was a gift of time. We wanted to give a grieving mother the time she needed to heal without having to worry about bills or going back to work before she was ready.
Lucy has since decided to use this money for a good cause in honor of her son. The money will be used towards the start of a foundation in Hunter's name that will fight against teenage suicide, and anything leftover will be donated to an organization already doing this called To Write Love On Her Arms,(“TWLOHA"). TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. It exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. (www.TWLOHA.com)
