Loving and supporting Burkley Ford

Our beautiful Burkley needs our help. Please help us lifting up her, Pate, Caroline, and Wallace in this heart-wrenching time.
Here is what we know in Caroline's words (as of 2/23/2021):
"I still cannot believe I am writing these words, but as parents we got the most heartbreaking news as Burkley was admitted MUSC Children's hospital yesterday with a large cancerous tumor in her abdomen.
So far Burkley has been so very brave with IVs, labs and CT scans, but tomorrow she will undergo surgery to hopefully remove the entire tumor, along with her left kidney, adrenal gland and adjacent lymph nodes. She will also have a port placed in her chest for for future chemotherapy.
*** We are asking for specific prayers—We are praying this is a Wilms tumor with ‘favorable’ pathology. We pray Burkley does not hurt or fear. We pray that Pate and I can remain strong, silly and happy for our girl during this hard time. We pray for our surgical , oncology, and intensive care teams that they may continue the excellent care we have already received. We pray for a successful surgery to remove the entire tumor. We pray Burkley remains strong in her coming days with chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Last but certainly not least, we pray for a very long happy life ahead for the girl who lights our world up every day. ***
We have a very long and hard road ahead of us, but with our faith, family, friends and community we know we will get through this.
We have felt ALL the prayers thus far and appreciate every single text, call and message. Although we may not respond, we feel the love and we love you all!"
