Kelly's Fund//Love Beats Cancer

Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2015. After chemotherapy and a mastectomy, she thought the worst of it was behind her. Since then she returned to work as a Registered Nurse at Kaiser Woodland Hills, continued as a supportive wife to her husband Ryan, a Police Officer and given her heart daily to her daughter Riley (9) and her son Easton (6).

To everyone’s disappointment, two years later, the cancer has returned and has spread to the majority of her body.

Due to the aggressive nature of her cancer, Kelly has decided to include alternative and holistic forms of treatment in addition to traditional. These treatments are not covered by insurance and are extremely expensive but it is necessary for her to fight this disease with all available resources. Ryan and her parents have done everything possible to maintain a sense of normalcy amid the continuous bad news these last few weeks, particularly in the interest of their two children. It is our hope to offer support so that they can continue to care for Kelly without the unnecessary worry of how to pay for it, and to also take even just a minute of their pain away by coming together for them at this desperate time of need.

Kelly just celebrated her 36th birthday, and by all definitions of the word is a true warrior. Even now, as she faces the most difficult time of her life, she continues to amaze those closest to her with her strength and determination to put her children and others first. She has never asked much of anything or anyone, and was very reluctant to allow us to start this fund, but now is the time to show her how powerful love can be.
