Dear friends, families, teachers, and colleagues
Our dear friend, Monica, recently delivered a beautiful baby boy, Luka, with Prader Willi. Luka has poor tone and laryngomalacia, so he requires more care with feeding. He may need a G-tube in the future if he does not gain weight appropriately. We are glad that he is now home after his 1 month stay in the NICU, but he continues to need high flow oxygen, home health, physical, and speech therapy as well as needing to see multiple specialists. Our hearts go out to our sweet friend and her family who love Luka dearly. She is finishing her residency as well and juggling many things while caring for Luka. There is a specialist center for Prader Willi children in Florida, and we all think it is best for Luka to be seen at this center. We would like to help our friend with some of Luka's medical expenses, including the trip to Florida for Luka to be evaluated by the specialists there.
As we go through life, we hope for many things: love, success, marriage, prosperity, and healthy children. But sometimes life does hit you out of nowhere and leave you barely holding on, and you realize you don't have as much control over things as you would like to think. Help us take care of Luka. Please reach out and provide warm hugs to our Monica. Please show her that she can allow herself to be held.
