Support Donna Mollet Medical Fund

For those of you who know Donna, and for those who have not yet had the pleasure;  Donna is an amazing wife, step-mother, grandmother, and friend.  She is vibrant and full of life.  She is a "giver" by every definition.   At 62 years old, she joined a fitness group, Kaia Fit, and recently ran her first 10K with her Kaia Fit "sisters."   She has been an active and long time member of the Dutch social club, The Avio, and has tirelessly helped with numerous benefits over the years.

On June 22, 2016 she finished her routine morning workout and noticed her vision becoming blurry.  She developed a severe headache and her vision worsened to the point she needed help walking and could not drive.  Friends called Rene (her husband of over 35 years) to come pick her up.  He took her straight to the urgent care.   Despite displaying several symptoms of a stroke, she was told she had a headache and was given anti-inflammatory medications and sent home.  As the day progressed, her symptoms did not improve.   Around 2am on June 22, when Rene noticed she had not yet come to bed, he went downstairs to check on her.  Sadly, he found her on the floor and called 9-1-1.   She was rushed to the hospital and underwent immediate neurosurgery which confirmed she had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke.  She is currently in a coma with an unknown prognosis.

What you might not know is that, after Rene semi-retired several years ago, Donna took on the primary responsibility for their family business, Decor-aide (a custom window treatment business) .  She ran ALL of the day to day operations including bidding jobs, manufacturing product, bookkeeping, managing employees, payroll, and much more.   All operations have stopped since her tragedy which means no income for Rene and Donna.  Friends and family are trying to learn as much as they can about the business to help keep it alive but it may not be possible.   This is a tremendous stress on Rene, especially with the medical expenses incurred already and potential for lifelong care and rehab if Donna's condition improves.

After 35+ years of marraige, Rene and Donna are still madly in love and remain best friends.   This tragedy has been devastating to both Rene and our family.
As her son and daughter-in-law, we want to help raise funds to help cover Donna's mounting medical expenses and support our loving Dad, Rene.   We are truly grateful for any donation regardless of the denomination.   Thank you for your generosity and prayers.

Wtih upmost gratitude,
Mark and Allison Mollet
