Cancer Treatment for Lisa Deel

A little over a year ago, my mom, Lisa LaCombe Deel, aged 51, noticed a lump on her left breast. Convinced it was nothing, she checked with her Primary doctor, who agreed that it was most likely a "fatty tumor." Fast forward to this year, and the lump began to hurt. She scheduled a mammogram at the urging of my Bonus Dad, and all of us kids. That was on July 10th. They told her there were a couple "suspicious spots" and that she'd get the results in 2-5 days. Well, my mom- my best friend and my rock- has breast cancer - Invasive Ductal Carcinoma to be exact. She is having a port put in and is to begin Chemotherapy shortly after. However, the oncologist's office told us that she cannot begin treatment unless we pay out of pocket approximately $1,100 every TWO WEEKS for deductibles and copays. This is outrageous, and unfortunately, my mom's medicare does not cover that. If you know my mom, she and my bonus dad have my sisters, who are 12 and 13, and are just not able financially to pay for this astronomical amount without facing a crushing financial devastation. We are starting this gofundme to try to raise whatever we can to pay for her treatments and save her life. We need to get on this as soon as possible, as we don't know how fast this cancer will attack her, and we don't want to find out.
