Love-Pit Potion | a Short Film
Set in the 1950’s countryside of England. Ophelia, a love-struck countryside girl lures her lifelong crush, Laurence, to fall for her with the help of a love potion from a mysterious lady in the woods.
In the heart of our story, the film is about aligning your expectations and dreams with the reality of life. Growing past your own naivety and taking people and their desires as they are. In a sense, it is Ophelia’s coming-of-age story, as she begins to understand that she can’t force other’s goals and aspirations, she has to understand them as they are.
Our story will harken back to films such as Rebecca (1940, Hitchcock), Jane Eyre (1943, Stevenson) and Phantom Thread(2017, Anderson) and the Gothic Romantic side of those films.
We are a group of young and ambitious filmmakers bringing ‘Love-Pit Potion’ to life. Our casting and pre-production is well underway, and currently we are finalizing our cast and locations.
Where your help will go into?
Your support will go into costumes and transportation. As an integral part of our 1950’s period, most of our budget will go into purchasing and customising period accurate wardrobe for the cast to elevate our story. We have drawn concepts and designs for the characters.
The film will be shot on location in the countryside of Surrey, England.
Filming during Covid-19 has proven to be difficult however it's our priority to make this production as safe and secure as possible. We will be following all the current Government guidelines, we are also fully insured.
Everyone who will contribute to our film, will get a mention in the credits for the support. It would be greatly appreciated. You will be kept up to date via email as our film progresses.
