Update: Thank you everyone for your generosity. Aurelie, Laurie's Mom, will be withdrawing the funds raised, and all monies will be placed into the trust for Laurie's 3 children. This decision was carefullymade with the approval of Calvin, Laurie's Husband & Her parents and sisters... ♡ We thank each one of you for your love & support through this very difficult journey... ♡

Love, Support & Prayers as her family navigates the treacherous road ahead ♡
Life doesn't really prepare us for the difficult seasons. Last week, I watched the lives of my dear friends spin out of orbit, into a reality that no longer makes sense. Last Wednesday Laurie, a precious daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother of three, started experiencing, what was believed to be some minor health concerns, and by Friday was admitted into the U of A. Her health has continued to slip, and yesterday morning she was moved into the ICU, as her condition has turned desperately serious. It's shocking how quickly everything has spiraled. My heart aches, along with many others, as we stand helpless, wishing there was something more we could offer. I know the family is having a difficult time catching their breath, as each day they watch her regress. We all know Laurie is in the very best hands. Everyone is so grateful for the exceptional medical team taking remarkable care for her. However, that doesn't stop the tears from those who dearly love her. Even in the ashes there is such beauty watching this family surround Laurie with endless love, as they embrace every moment with her. I am in awe of her army.
Many have asked how they can help. Prayer is priority, as we believe God is ultimately her healer. Beyond prayer, I feel honored to invite you to bless this incredible family as they navigate the days, weeks and months to come. Together we could assist in covering the costs of fuel, food and all other life expenses that continue when reality is shaken.
Even in this season I know her family feels tremendous comfort and strength knowing they have an army praying for them. They are also grateful for the love and support surrounding them during this incredibly difficult time. <3
UPDATE:
I know many people have questions regarding Laurie’s condition. A diagnosis has been confirmed—Anti NMDA receptor encephalitis due to an ovarian teratoma. 'Brain on Fire', currently playing on Netflix, is a movie that speaks into the battle Laurie is facing. Of course each patient varies and all the details are not exactly the same, but nonetheless it will shed some light. We are all hoping and praying for a speedy and full recovery, but know it is a long road ahead. Thank you to everyone for all the love and support along the way.
