We visit him every day to try to get him to eat and to love on him. Currently he has ivs in two of his legs and another leg has the port to draw blood for his twice a day labs. He also has a catheter to track exactly what his kidneys are producing. It’s hard to see him like this, but we know he is in the place he needs to be. We couldn’t help him at home.
We are so grateful for the doctors and techs who are working to save him. He’s created his own fan club. Even the receptionist knows who he is and gets some Wicklow loves. The doctor is just as invested in his recovery as we are. She has cried with us on the bad days and shed hopeful tears with us on the better days.
Having this level of care costs a considerable about of money. We do not ever want to have to make his medical decisions based on our financial situation. We decided to create a Go Fund Me to help offset some of the costs. At this point we don’t have any idea of how long he will be in the hospital.
We miss our peanut butter loving, chase playing, hug giving, chicken treat eating, snow frolicking, smiley guy more than words could ever express. Our world has been shaken while we wait for him to rejoin our home. Right now we wait and pray for his kidneys to start doing their thing and in the meantime we love him from afar.
