As many of you already know my daughter-in-law Aubrie Moniz is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Tyler does have FMLA but in that state of Kentucky that is unpaid. They have had to deal with so much as new parents I was hoping that we could give them a little less to worry about.
We have shared alot with everyone but not everything. I feel once you know everything you will understand the reason for this.
Aubrie had a 23cm mass removed at 15 weeks pregnant which was an immature terratoma, stage 3. She was scanned every 9 wks because at that time chemo was to dangerous for the baby. The second scan came back with two 10cm masses. December 30 Aubrie had major surgery with 6 teams of doctors from 2 different hospitals. Patricia Cynthia Anne was born healthy but premature and spent 15days in the NICU. Aubrie's surgery went well, no complications but the incision was closed with 60 staples. The baby was in the adjoining hospital NICU and Aubrie was brought to see her baby in her hospital bed and than later in a wheelchair. Aubrie pumped breast milk every 3hrs while in recovery and then Tyler ran it over to the NICU. They stayed at a Ronald McDonald house while they baby was in NICU. The hospital and all doctor appointments are 2+ hrs away in Columbus Ohio. Aubrie's incision opened up after the staple removal. They stay in an hotel for her 5 day cycle of chemo. The other weeks they go up to Columbus for one day of chemo. Aubrie is allergic to one of her treatments so they administer it very slowly, which makes chemo an all day process. She ended up with a kidney infection during chemo. Had to have a port installed(another surgery) because her veins are not reacting well to the chemo. She lost all of her hair. On the way to a lung test the doctor insisted she go straight to the emergency room because they felt she might be having a cardiac episode. Which result in another 2 nights in the hospital. She now has a blood clot in the right atrium of heart, which they will not remove because of the risks, so they are treating with medication Through all of this her attitude has nothing but positive.
This little family has been through so much. Tyler has used up all of his paid vacation time for the year already. So now all the time he takes off to be with his wife is unpaid. The money will be used for insurance deductibles, travel and lodging expenses to and from Columbus, medications and to supplement Tyler's loss of income during the most stressful time of their life.
They did not want me to do this because they think everyone has given them so much already. But I really think they could use the help. Any amount you could donate would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your support ❤️
