Heart aching news has been announced in the Mahoney household today.
Yesterday evening sweet 6 year old Lylah told her parents Matthew and Yvonne that she was experiencing pain in her stomach. Matthew felt a lump when observing the area where the pain was coming from and decided to take Lylah to the hospital.
Upon arrival doctors decided to take an extensive look into the situation and pursued to give Lylah a CT scan. Unfortunately they found a mass the size of a grapefruit on her right kidney and also realized that the kidney was no longer functioning. The doctors at Sault Area Hospital are almost certain that poor Lylah has kidney cancer due certain pointers that the have dealt with in past.
Tomorrow will be a big day for the Mahoneys as Lylah and he parents will be travelling to SickKids hospital in London. Leaving behind her loving siblings Mason and Hannah. Once they arrive in London the doctors have set a plan to immediately remove the Kidney and test it for cancer. If it is cancerous as suspected, Lylah will then undergo chemotherapy. The family has been told to expect a stay of 6 weeks or more. Taking time away from their jobs and the rest of their family. These funds will be used for food, transportation, accommodations and paying for anything that Lylah and her family are in need of during this time. Once I receive donations I will then etransfer the funds to the family.
Lylah's father Matthew is my first cousin and please believe me when I tell you that he has a heart of gold, just like his beautiful mother my Aunt Cheryl. Yvonne and her mother are absolutely thoughtful, giving and kind. They have all stood by my side through some of my darkest days. It truly breaks my heart to share this tragic news with you. My family, my friends and my community, I am reaching out to you all and asking you kindly to give generously to this much deserving family.
