Lou's stage 4 pancreatic cancer

Donation protected
3 weeks ago my dad (Lou Soqui) had a yellow tint to his skin and was feeling a bit run down. His doctor was worried about what it might be so she had him go to the hospital. We had hopes that it was a gall stone blocking the bile duct of his liver but after a scope the doctors discovered a tumor on his pancreas.

Pancreatic cancer tends to sneak up on its victims. We had hoped that we caught it early and that they could remove the cancer before it spread but after further tests the doctors let us know that the cancer has spread to other organs and surgery is no longer an option.

The treatment is very limited with conventional medicine. They are able to do standard chemotherapy but on average people have between 6 months to year after they start treatment.

People that know my dad know that he is one of the healthiest and most disaplined people around. We were all shocked at the news. He is trying all of the homeopathic treatments available and he is a fighter so we have hope that his strength will give us as much time with him as possible.

My mom just retired after 30+ years as a middle school teacher and was very much looking forward to a retirement with my dad. I am creating this because there are two things that I would like to see for them

The first is to alleviate some of the financial burden of his treatment. In just a few weeks we have seen more doctors than I can count and he has been through test after test. Those costs start to add up quick. Due to the nature of treatment available the best chance he has may be through natural healing and unfortunatelly insurance doesn't cover any of that.

The second reason is for over 30 years my parents sacrificed everything they had to raise their children. They always put us first and in my lifetime they never once went on a nice long relaxing vacation. That is something I would like to see. I want my moms memories of her life with my dad to be of them happy and together and not just of this fight with cancer.

If I could do it all myself I would. I have always wanted to be able to take care of them the way they took care of me. With the potential time restraints I wanted to make this happen as soon as I could. I have a hard time asking for help, but I already see how much my mom is suffering at the thought of losing my dad. I really just want to see some happiness for them. I appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers for my family and if anyone is able to help otherwise it would mean the world to my family.

Thank you
