April's Angels~Conquering Cancer
On November 14, 2014, the world lost a beautiful soul, and the strongest woman I had ever met, April Steinhoff, after a long battle with liver cancer.
After seeing the Ride to Conquer Cancer commercial on tv, I immediately called to ask my stepfather, an avid cyclist, if he would participate in the event to honor April's memory, as well as my grandmother's, who passed of ovarian cancer. He obliged, with my promise to do my part.....raise the minimum $2500 donation target, per rider.
On September 19, 2015, my stepdad, John Atha, will leave the starting line to begin his 2 day, 150+ mile ride benefiting the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, Sibley Memorial and Suburban Hospitals. All funds raised will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching and compassionate care, made possible through the previously stated cancer centers and hospitals.
As John dedicates his time to train for his 150 mile bike ride, I am dedicating mine to fundraising for cancer research, and hopefully one day, a cure, because this challenge that John and I have taken on, is nothing compared to the fight that April put up against that disease. Please help support this journey, in honor of April Steinhoff, and many other millions of people that have been affected by cancer.
No donation is too small.....EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!
Thank you
If you would prefer to donate directly to John's personal page on the ride's website, please follow this link:
