My name is Dayvid Wilson I am from NC. When I was four years old my parents took me horse back riding at Tanglewood Park camp that was life changing for me. At that time they where not aware that I was planning on making that a yearly experience if not weekly. I was too young to know that money was a key factor in getting in that saddle, but I was grateful my parents made it happen for me as much as they could. A few years later my father passed and life happened and my trail rides became more of a memory then my reality. Until I found a summer camp through the YMCA that offered a horse back riding camp. My mom knew my desires and enrolled me. I became a regular and when money was tight for my mom I stop asking and started volunteering at the camp. Until I became old enough and YMCA offered me a job. From there I went on training horses and giving lessons but always someone else's horses and someone's barn. Now years later this black cowboy is able to pursue my dream further and provide the same experiences for people in search of being in a saddle and communicating with such a big and beautiful animal.Being around horses gave me a glimpse of a different lifestyle a life style that I desired to have and that was family. I didn't grow up seeing successful marriages or
having a father in the home or even a
positive black male figure around. But
around the horses I saw men taking care of their families, their land and their live stock. As a black man I want to change
what so many of us as a race experience and have been victims of not knowing
how to overcome and our women and
families suffering as a result. Imagine a
place where you can go and enjoy the
simplicity of country living horse back
riding lessons and trail rides a place
where families come together and
restore relationship, couples date night, couples counseling, barn fires, children's
imagination running wild, a place that
will inspire both adults and children of
color dreams do come true, and other
activities that will promote a healthy
mindset all while also giving horses a
sense of purpose. Everyone always ask why 216, I smile and say it's my angel
number it's a combination of numbers
that represent my God given purpose.
Knowing Gods
purpose for my life has been such a
rewarding accomplishment and I am
truly grateful for this vision turn to
reality. To God be the glory!
I'm asking for your help in making this a
Fruition.
