Navy Family Harvey Home Flooded

The Wilson's just bought a home in Houston and less than a month later it flooded because of Hurricane Harvey.
My name is Alan Carlton and I retired from the Navy a little over a year ago and I live in Canyon Lake, CA. I have been friends with the Wilson's for over four years.
To make things worse, his flood insurance hasnt kicked in yet because it was not purchased within 24 hours of closing. His Wife and children were rescued by boat.
Dave Wilson has served nearly 20 years in the Navy and is currently active duty. He is planning to retire early next year and moved his family to Houston so his daughter would be able to start school and not have to be uprooted once again in the middle of the school year.
Dave purchased the home, incurred closing costs, insurance and moving costs, less than 30 days ago. Because his home was assessed as a "low risk" for flooding he decided to shop around for flood insurance, and purchased the insurance well before Hurricane Harvey was ever a threat. Because he did not purchase the flood insurance within 24 hours of closing, there is a 30 day wait before it becomes active.
This gofundme is to provide financial aide to him and his family while they live with relatives in Texas and try to rebuild.
It is incredibly difficult for a man of Dave's caliber to ask for assistance, and I truly feel that he would not ask unless he really needs it. Please think about how you would feel if you were in his shoes, and please give what you can, all is appreciated. If you cannot give monetary support that is ok, because they will be needing clothes, diapers, baby wipes and things of that nature. Please contact me if you would like to provide support.
