Loss of Barn due to Fire
Donation protected
On May 15th, the Hensler family lost their barn to fire. The family consists of Judy, who is in college, and her mother Georgia who is retired.
The structure is a total loss. They live on a very limited budget, but the week week before, were able to purchase feed for the next several months. The loss of the barn is devastating, but their current concern is how to feed their six horse.
Under normal circumstances, the cost of feed would not be an overwhelming expense, however, since they had just stocked up there is not any money to buy more. Along with the food for the animals, they lost all of their tack and many tools. Due to the cost of out building insurance, the structure was not insured.
Right now, what the family needs is hay for their horses. If you are in the Flathead Valley, Montana donations of feed would be happily accepted. They will also need assistance removing the remnants of the barn and rebuilding the fencing around it.
While we understand, there are people going through much worse, this family has had a difficult year already with the loss of Georgia's mother just a few months ago. Any donations are appreciated to help with the immediate need for food and the future need of replacing the barn and it's contents.
