Lorn's Family Photos If you knew Lorn, you knew how much he loved & cared for his family. He would often take Freedom to soccer or wrestling or take Libby to cheerleading or Justice to her friends house or work. He often cleaned the kitchen and did the dishes so Amber wouldn't have to. He made the most amazing chocolate chip cookies...Ask anyone who knew! He was the definition of Mr. Reliable...Anything you needed, Lorn was there for you with no questions asked!
If you knew Lorn, you knew how hard he worked at his job for Jacobs. 5 years easily seemed like 10 for Lorn. He often worked long hours including weekends and truly loved doing it. He was often seen talking on the phone helping his contractors solve complex problems the telecom industry presents....And did it with confidence & ease.
If you knew Lorn, you knew the passion in is voice for his job and could feel it with every conversation. He was super proud of himself and the amazing career he built in the past 10 years. He was the epitome of a grinder, a tirelessly hard worker who never gave up until the job was done. That's the Lorn I knew and I'm certain that's the Lorn you knew too. "Swap out those radios! What's the RAD center? What's on the RFDS?" I often heard him say.
If you knew Lorn, you knew he was a leader, a mentor to many new hires & colleagues at Jacobs. They went to him with questions and he had the answers.
If you knew Lorn, you knew he cared for his ailing mother (Thursdays thru Sundays) who is currently recovering from Stage 4 breast cancer and getting better every day! Lorn would often take her places she could no longer go on her own. Lorn would help her in and out of the car, into the wheelchair, and push her around for hours and never complain. That's because he enjoyed it. Time with his mother was natural. Lorn was that guy! He was her rock, my rock, Amber's rock, the kids' rock! Dammit he will be missed! :( :(
I know for a fact my Mom would not be where she is today without Lorn's hard work and sacrifice.
If you knew Lorn, you knew he was an avid runner. He would run 6 miles every other day in less than 50 minutes and you would never hear about it. He was humble. He was admirable. He ran several 5k and 10k races like they were a walk in the park.
If you knew Lorn, you knew the struggles he overcame in his short 46 years of his life. He had it tough...tougher than most but he OVERCAME all of those obstacles to provide a wonderful life and home for himself and his beautiful family.
And sadly, that's all gone...He's gone...Forever.
And that's the reason for this fundraiser. He's gone and so is the financial support he provided for his family. Freedom is 7yrs. old. Libby is 9yrs. old. Justice is 17yrs. old.
The support you provide will keep the lights on, keep the mortgage paid, keep the kids in their sports, keep life as normal as possible until the next chapter of Amber & the kids life after the unexpected loss of Lorn.
Give whatever you can because every donation counts no matter how small.
What would Lorn do for your family if the situation was reversed?
If you knew Lorn, you knew he gave away 2 weeks worth of PTO pay to a colleague's family for a similar situation.
Thank you for reading and sharing this with anyone and everyone Lorn knew because if you knew Lorn, you knew he would want his kids & wife to be taken care of for as long as possible.
There are no words to describe how much he will be missed.
Love, Lucas (Lorn's brother)
I miss you Lorn
