Hi,
My name is Dena and Lori is my mom. In March of this year my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4a cervical cancer. To say how badly it has impacted her and our families life is an understatement.
She has been receiving treatment for 8 weeks now, but every single day is a fight. With a cancer this complicated, it not only takes a strong women to fight it, it takes a lot of energy as well.
With that being said Lori has been pretty much bed ridden since treatment began. She no longer can work, she has used all of her leave, and now is trying to scramble money to afford the 600$ a month cobra insurance. The state has denied her state insurance (I am going to fight and repeal this!!), and denied any cash help or food stamps. We have no idea why, with no income coming in, you would think she would be eligible.
This money we raise is going to help pay for her treatments, pay for her cobra insurance, and help pay for the roof she has over her head.
My brothers and sister and I are doing all we can and hope that we can take some stress off of all us.
My mom is hands down the MOST giving person you will ever meet. I know this may sound cliche but she is. She has helped so many people through tough times and it's time to Rally for her and help her beat this!!
