Lori sweeney is 35 years old. She is loving and devoted to her husband and our two children. Ages 2 and 4 months old. Three months ago Lori felt a lump while breastfeeding. Her postpartum check was two days later. They were able to do a biopsy that same day, when the results came back we were told that she had triple negative cancer. We started doing research and getting as informed as possible on what triple negative cancer is. Triple negative means the cancer is not responsive to any of the breakthroughs that have been made in cancer research over the years. There is only 1 option for treatment and it doesn't always work on triple negative cancer. That treatment is chemo therapy. Lori has always been healthy. She has been a vegetarian for 20 years and has always been slim. She never drinks and always has lived and acted with moderation. She is a beautiful mother of two and is the last person who should have gotten something like this... something so deadly. She has gone through the equivalent of 3 months of chemotherapy. The doctors were expecting up to 70%-90% reduction in size but the cancer has barely shrunk. Her only last hope is a non FDA approved trial of immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is the leading edge of medical science and is where all cancer treatments will be focused in the future. The only place she can receive this treatment is a thousand miles away from home at MD Anderson hospital in Houston TX. The treatments will be given every week for three months then she will go through surgery and begin radiation treatments daily for one month. We have decided that the best thing for lori is if we lived near MD Anderson. We would like your financial support on making this easier. We sold one of our vehicles and will consider putting the house we bought 5 months ago for sale if we need to. Please help us to make this transition. The details of moving a 4 month old and 2 year old as well as everything lori will need are burdensome. The financial strain isn't something we really can consider with my wife, a young mother going through the fight of her life.
