Lorenz Family Home Destroyed in Storm

Hi, my name is Cat and I’m putting out the bat signal to help our friends, the Lorenz family of four, who had a huge tree destroy their home while they were inside last night in Berwyn. The 7/12 storm was brief brought strong and destructive straight line winds over 70 mph.

Gratefully and somewhat amazingly, Nick and Liz were able to move their two young sons to the basement and get out of their house shortly after the tree fell. They ran out with just what they were wearing before bed, and without shoes on. Subsequent pipe bursting created a total loss and the structural damage makes it unsafe to enter to retrieve any belongings.
