Looking After Shara

As you may know, in December 2018,  our adventurous and fun loving Shara was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Being the fighter that she is, Shara and her team of amazing doctors, spent over 8 hours in surgery - removing not only her pancreas, but also her spleen, gall bladder, a small section of her jugular vein and a small portion of her stomach.

As a result of the surgery to remove her pancreas, she now has insulin dependent diabetes alongside a big recovery to make ahead of chemo.

Shara is recovering at home after a long second stint in hospital and we would like to assist her in any way possible during her treatment and support her as she adapts to life with diabetes and as she begins chemotherapy.

It has also become apparent that Shara requires a glucose monitoring device and insulin pump to manage her blood sugar levels. This will cost approximately £300 per month on an ongoing basis and hopefully any extra funds we raise can go to providing this and any additional care that she needs.
