It's Hard to Be a Saint in The City

Donation protected
The Saint has long been a fixture in the music community, an iconic New Jersey live music destination since it was established, in 1994. The Saint can be added to a short list of classic, old-school DIY venues that managed to hang in after an unthinkable global pandemic tore into the music industry.

We got clobbered !!! by the pandemic, and would probably be better off giving up entirely.... but, as a dear close friend advised, we do not have a choice in the matter but to try and carry on. That said, our dear friends and family, The Saint continues to struggle due to variables associated with the pandemic global shutdown and, we seriously could use a little help.

What occurred is that we lost our accountant of decades, half a year before the pandemic hit. Never in a million years anticipating a global shutdown. Because of this, the crux of it all, The Saint lost any emergency relief funding we were in line for due to two years of tardy taxes from the timeframe during the pandemic shutdown and a 1/2 year before, due to losing our longtime accountant.

All is thankfully now being worked out, but, because of all this, The Saint was denied all Emergency Relief Funding.

We are music people. Not accountants. Decimated, we were, by losing our decades-long accountant, and here we are.

We truly have no choice but to try a Go-Fund-Me in an attempt to feed ourselves and hang on while we re-establish, regroup, restructure, and re-establish, in our entirety.

What will change? The good news, we are on the verge of a new partnership that can't come soon enough. We are being helped with getting all our paperwork and tardy taxes in order, however, until all is worked out, we are in a merciless limbo and need a hand if you are in a position to swing it.

Home of live original music since 1994, there aren't many venues in the world like The Saint. The music community has been a savior to The Saint and has had our back since the beginning. Early on support provided the breath of life needed for this beloved Jersey music venue. Now, we need another push.

We are humbled and shudder to think we are here again, but we are. Any help will afford the Saint precious time and some dignity during this painful in-between period as we wait for the perfume of the pandemic to fade already so that we can get on with it !!! and The Saint can reopen again and resume doing what we do best...rock and roll.

Approximately three years ago hundreds came together to help out. It was not money given by a billionaire, but by hundreds of friends, fans and family. People who gave what they could. We thank you so much. We are forevermore grateful and indebted. The campaign underlined the powerful and unifying force of the live music experience and community. Hoping that "we can play it again, Sam" and the show will go on.

We understand it is a tough time for many now, and we are grateful for any support.

To say thanks, when we re-open, we will be throwing one hell of an amazing and free grand re-opening concert for all of you and other cool things, as we think of them. If you have suggestions, we are 100 percent down to boogie.

We are hopeful and look forward to a brighter tomorrow. Thanks, everybody. We are indebted to you and appreciative of your support.

Humbly, Meg & Scott & The Saint, Home of Live Original Music, Since 1994
