My Name is Emily and I have been lucky enough to own Flowers and Fire Yoga Garden, a business on the beautiful island Gili Air. After last Sunday’s Earthquake which devastated the region of North Lombok I have been heartened to see the amazing response of the community-banding together to raise funds to support those in Lombok without homes or access to food, water, medical supplies and adequate shelter. The scale of those needing support is massive and until the major aid agencies get in with long term coordinated support plans it seems to me that the most effective way to support the people on the ground is to get all hands on deck to bring essential supplies to those that need them. I have an incredible team of staff and friends in Lombok, perfectly positioned to help coordinate, select and distribute supplies on the ground and access to a dedicated group of people in Bali and Lombok coordinating communications around the region. Given this it felt like we could initiate some effective action and we have completed one big food and water drop already- see post from my fb below. What would really help is more funds so we can purchase more supplies and get them out to those that really need them. Our plan right now is to create a central supply drop which can be managed by the community on the ground and accessed by satellite camps in the Tanjung area. This central drop will be coordinated by my amazing local business partner Ado, who is sheltering in one of the Tanjung camps. He is perfectly positioned to understand the need’s the community there and to ensure equitable distribution of supplies, so we are working off the supply lists he is sending me. Yesterday’s mission cost about $1000 AUD so we need to raise a lot of funds to keep supporting these communities until more long term solutions have been established. Any amount adds up and would be deeply appreciated. Our next mission is tomorrow and we have an extra truck for that- so funds to fill them would be amazing! Already I have over $1000 pledged but we need more to keep this up!!! xxx

Yesterday my wonderful team and I rented a big old truck and bought and distributed supplies to Tanjung, one of the hardest hit regions in Lombok. I’ve never been so proud to be working with our Flowers and Fire staff team Sahar Terhianati Ozie Dunkluk Achink Bello in my life and my dear mate Muhamad Ikbal Reza. All I had to do was whisper the idea to them and they were there with me on the ground, without hesitation, coordinating all the logistics to make this happen. We managed to fill the truck and take it to the camp housing my incredible business partner Ado Al'wahab who along with Angga Angglok Lange will make sure all is fairly distributed. I couldn’t think of anyone more effective to manage equitable distribution of supplies than Ado and collectively we decided that from now on we will do drops at his base for the Tanjung region.

I think we have an unstoppable team here which is already growing thanks to the faith and funds of ZoZosia Ella. Our next mission is on Monday where with a second truck, we hope to double our supply gathering. There are many beautiful communities here who truly need your support.
