Lola’s Tummy Surgery

Hi there,

My name is Alexa and my sweet dog Lola being the food loving 10 month old corgi cross she is broke into our garbage shortly after thanksgiving while we were out. She managed to completely fill her belly. I immediately rushed her to Atlas Emergency where they did an x ray. They hoped some movement would occur over night but nothing happened.

I rescued Lola in March which was just in time for my daughter Adelaide’s third birthday. The two are inseparable best friends. Imaging her losing her best pal after a eight months together breaks my heart.

In my mind I know the responsible thing would have been obtaining pet insurance. I’ll regret my lack of action on that front for many years to come. As a single parent, it just wasn’t a priority. We love Lola so much. She brings so much joy to anyone she meets. She truly is the most loving, snuggly and affectionate creature I’ve ever met.

I, as many other people do - struggle with my own pride and struggle to ask for help. In this particular situation, I am humbled by those who stepped forward to help me and am eternally grateful.
