Local to Global Justice Fundraiser 2022

Local to Global Justice (L2GJ), a university-community partnership and registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, has held an annual forum and festival for the last 21 years. This event is free and open to the public, and we remain committed to keeping the event inclusive. We invite you to help us raise $5000 for L2GJ, by raising $2500 in donations that will be matched 100%. Donations during the month of October can help assure our event continues to bring together local, state and international participants.

L2GJ’s primary goal is to educate Arizona State University students and the greater community about issues of local and global justice, while promoting diversity, freedom of speech, and academic freedom of discussion. Our organizing table, which includes students and community organizers, meets regularly to discuss the struggles our communities are facing and to find new ways to recognize and support issues and networking We believe it is vital to connect local diversity, sustainability, and social justice issues to larger global struggles.For more information please visit: https://localtoglobal.org/

We are currently planning our 22nd annual Forum and Festival with the theme “Energizing Justice.” Energizing Justice can be interpreted on many levels. In our current society, progress often feels slow, especially with recent setbacks on issues of human rights and social justice. In response, local efforts by communities have challenged these injustices and are modeling new kinds of grassroots initiatives that have spread both nationally and globally. For example, the Sunrise Movement started as a grassroots group seeking systemic political and economic actions to curb climate change, and it has spread internationally, influencing the global conversation about sustainable energy policies.

We intend to continue bringing diverse viewpoints, activities, and programs to our annual event, while also keeping it open, free, and inclusive for the different communities we serve.

In these times, keeping events such as the Local to Global Justice Forum and Festival free and open to all can help energize individuals, organizations, and communities. We invite you to contribute to and help us organize our annual event next year, and in the years to come.
