On Friday, August 4th, Paul Daniell, of Plainege, was at a friend's house, gathering with high school friends he hadn't seen in thirty years. With no warning, Paul tragically dropped to the ground, paralyzed, unable to move any part of his body.

Paulie and his wife Michelle were born and raised in Plainege. If you know Paulie, he's got some sarcastic remark about the fall and Michelle having to take care of him for the rest of his life. But, that could be the tragic reality they could be facing. Paulie had surgery and has shown signs of improvement but still has no movement in his arms. They are nervous, anxious and afraid for what the future holds.

With two sons in college, a daughter in middle school, a mortgage, a surplus of medical bills, out of pocket home care and loss of income... the financial burden is inconceivable.

They've raised their three kids here. Michelle has spent 15+ years volunteering for the PTA, school functions and giving herself to our children and the community. She's the first to donate and support others. Paulie has done the same for the kid's sports and activities, especially when the boys were little, coaching Bobcats.

Now it's our turn to rally, and help lift the Daniell family in their time of need.

Most importantly, please keep them in your thoughts, and pray Paulie regains mobility.

UPDATE 1:

First we want to thank everyone for your generosity in donations. We are so taken back from your donations! These past two weeks have been a nightmare for both Paul and us. Doctors said the recovery will be 6-12 months. We will get through this with your support. We appreciate every one of you. The good news is Paul is out of the ICU. Bad news is Paul can't get comfortable and is frustrated with not being able to move! They moved him to the chair, but he's miserable. We are hoping to get transferred to an in patient rehab at Glen Cove Hospital on
Monday! So, we're waiting to go to rehab. It will be better for him.

Kids are good, getting ready for school Matthew is starting his freshman at University of New Haven, Paulie staying home. He will still be working at Amazon and taking classes at Farmingdale. Alyssa starts 7th grade, but this 12 year old had been making sure everyone has clean clothes.

Someone who really misses Paul is our pup Maggie

UPDATE 2:

Paul is finally at a rehabilitation facility. He will be getting 3 hours a day of OT, PT and speech therapy. At this time he needs to focus on rehab and rest so he can’t have visitors yet. He is slowly moving in the right direction physically but right now he is not mentally that great. We thank you all for the continued prayers and financial support. We love you all!
