My Sister's Last Wish

Donation protected
My sister Marlyn was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2014 at the age of 36. Since then she has been battling this horrible disease with everything she's got! Marlyn is also a mother of 4 wonderful children, Alyssa age 17, Mike age 13, Matthew age 9, and Christopher age 7. Despite everything she has gone through these past 11 months she has never given up hope and neither have we. She is an amazing woman and anyone who knows her or has ever met her would certainly agree!

A month after her diagnosis Marlyn underwent a double mastectomy.  The following month  she went through another surgery to insert a port which would be used to begin her chemotherapy. That simple surgery turned into another major surgery as doctors discovered more cancer that needed to be removed right away. Soon after this the chemo treatments began. Six months into chemo things seemed to be going so well. After a simple check up and some follow up tests my sister was told that her cancer had spread across her whole chest even with her breasts already removed. Still then we never lost hope! Ive watched my sister and her family go through hell and back with this nightmare. She has been going through chemo and radiation daily for months and still she stands strong even going to work and never missing a single one of her children's sports events.

Recently Marlyn has been having major headaches so her doctor sent her in to have a brain scan. The brain scan revealed our worst fears. The cancer has spread to several parts of her brain. Her doctor has given her 2 weeks to 2 months to live. Our family is distraught and terrified of what is to come. Her children and their father are so strong and although this hurts I cant imagine how any of them feel.

In 2003 our older brother Abel passed away in a terrible accident while stationed at the Los Angeles Air Force Base shortly after taking us on our first family trip to Disneyland. Since then weve made it a family tradition to go to Disneyland every couple of years to celebrate his life. Now my sisters last wish is that we can all take one last trip to Disneyland as a family to celebrate her own life. We as her family are going to make this trip happen one way or another. I dont want her last moments to be spent thinking about medical bills or anything else. I want her to enjoy her time with her children, their father, and our family and friends. Since her prognosis is as little as 2 weeks we are planning this trip for next week Feb 13 2015, which is also her daughters 18th birthday. If there is anything anyone can donate it would be forever appreciated. I want to thank you all for taking the time to read this and hope that we can all come together to make this happen. God bless...
