TSG & the Trip to GP Toronto

I've always been afraid to attempt crowd funding efforts on my own. The idea sounded selfish and as someone who is often skeptical of handing over money in a world full of micro-transactions I never wanted to add to the noise that is "hey it's only a dollar a month" "for only five bucks you get a sticker" and so on.
Today I've finally turned the corner and think I've finally found a balance of something I really want to pursue that won't break anyone's bank but will also hopefully enrich my life as well as those who choose to contribute to it.
Since joining the Heavy Meta podcast on Manadeprived.com full time back in October of 2014 I've desperately wanted to get out to some larger Magic the Gathering events, especially those near the new Face to Face Games in Toronto. The logical question to ask is why Face to Face and why Toronto?
Long story short, I was born in Toronto many many years ago and I haven't been back to visit friends and family there since 1990!?! I keep trying to find the opportunity to travel back to the homeland and more recently school has kept me from having a chance. Now as part of the Manadeprived.com family I'm feeling even more of a pull to get back to Toronto and fill in all those gaps I have from my childhood memories from where I was born.
More recently a supporter of the podcast, Face to Face Games, has opened their new game center in Toronto and it's been calling to me as a beacon of gaming and community that I'd love to partake in even if just for a day. Magic the Gathering has driven me many places in life and allowed me to meet many of my lifelong friends and I find it fitting that it's also the vessel through which to have the opportunity to travel and see the world and meet even more amazing people that share strong common interests.
By funding my trip you're giving me the opportunity to get back to Toronto where I was born but haven't been back to in almost 25 years, allowing me to attend the largest Canadian Magic the Gathering Grand Prix to date (I'd imagine), and allowing me to see the new gaming epicenter of Toronto itself in Face to Face Games Toronto.
The budget outlined in my initial funding request covers airfare from California to Buffalo, New York and back. Additional transportation by car over the border into Canada, as well as consumables for 4 days which is the initial length of my trip.
Stretch goals may include any or all of the following as needs arise:
-Access to better audio/video equipment to record my trip
-Hotel costs should I not end up on various friends/family couches
-Additional days added to my trip allowing me to fully experience the signs and sounds of Toronto and it's suburbs during the spring.
-Additional stops along the trip for gaming and/or meet ups with friends and family
Highest reward tier purchased will get you everything included in all lower tiers.
