Brad Thomas Transplant Fund

In Sept 2014 Brad became ill, headache, fever, flu like symptoms. He was in the hospital both in Ketchum and Boise for over 10 days to find that he was having kidney issues.. Brad spent both Oct & Nov going back and forth from here and Boise for more testing, they did a kidney biopsy and found out that he has IGA Neuropathy, as disease of the immune system that attacks the kidneys. Brad was hospitalized on 12/17 he was put on an extremely high dosage of steroids, the side effects weren’t easy on his body and it also affected his liver, Brad was released on 12/21. On 12/28 we woke up to Brad being unresponsive, which resulted in him being life flighted to Boise, we were told there was a 7 in 10 chance that Brad wouldn’t come back and if he did he would need both a liver and kidney transplant, without the transplants they are only giving Brad 24 months. In order for Brad to be released he has to receive Dialysis 3 days a week for 4 hours a day, he is living with his parents so they can help get him back and forth to dialysis. On the morning of Jan 16th, Brad’s parents were unable to wake him and he was again life flighted. Brad is no longer able to work and there are many challenges, medically and financially, that need to be faced in order to get him well enough to have the transplant. We are grateful for this community and all they can do to help us.
