Liz Shank's Fight Against GBS

Donation protected
On Friday 6/30/17 Elizabeth "Liz" Shank went to the ER with concerns about loss of muscle use and tingling sensations in her body. On Saturday 7/1/17 she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system.

She is currently in ICU on a breathing machine and undergoing plasma exchange treatments in her bloodstream to assist with the episodes she is experiencing. Her treatments are scheduled through 7/13 and as long as they see signs of progression, she can hopefully start phyical therapy soon after.

Although Liz has medical insurance, she will be maxing out her plan and will incur many medical bills. Her most recent financial goal has been saving money to purchase her first property. I'd hate for her to dwindle away her savings while paying for her medical care and keeping up on bills without being able to work. This page is here to keep her financial goals on track during this difficult time in her health and all money collected will go directly to Liz and her expenses.

Any other contributions, cards, or gifts can be dropped off at the Santee Chamber of Commerce as she is limited on what can be delivered into the Intensive Care Unit. Please keep her in your prayers as we hope for the best recovery possible.
