Livre d'Art : Art Book
Reclining Figure: Arch Leg 1969-70 (LH610) carved by the British sculptor Henry Moore (1898-1986) is monumental: 259cm x 442cm x 206cm. Made of bronze by the Hermann Noack foundry in Berlin. I discovered "Reclining Figure : Arch Leg" while walking to the office in Geneva one day. In 2003, I bought a medium format analog camera to teach myself photography the slow way. The sculpture seemed like the ideal subject because it did not move. I took my time to go around it. Like Barbara Hepworth, a major British sculptor, a contemporary of Henry Moore and a friend of his suggested: ..."you need to touch sculpture, you can't be stiff...walk around it...bend toward it, there's a physical way round"... I photographed the sculpture from 2005 till the end of 2010. Then I searched the 6 other sculptures cast from the same mould and I travelled the world to photograph them from 2011 to 2013. I showed my images to The Henry Moore Foundation https://www.henry-moore.org/# who agrees I publish this book. Jennifer Cesa designer at L'artichaut http://www.l-artichaut.ch/nous.html in Geneva is presently doing the lay out. Luca Notari is the editor http://www.editionsnotari.ch/ . I now need to find the funds to publish it in Italy. My project has been entirely self-funded until now. I aim to get the book printed in the Spring of 2021. I hope you will support my campaign and/or share it with your friends. In exchange I will send you a photograph or take your portrait (in Switzerland) and will inform you of the project's progress.
